Little Elephant
Just a little post about a little elephant that I drew for one of the local doctors practices. It's a little card for recording little people's growth. It was printed on recycled paper, which made their branding colours look nice and earthy.

Mini landscapes of Sydney's Inner West
I've turned my landscapes into art that will fit into your pocket. I have selected 8 of my favourite scenes from my exhibition 'The Sun Sets in the West' to go into this little collection. Of course they double as postcards to spread word about the charm of Sydney's Inner West.
It's for sale at Sweets Workshop, and comes in a hand made yellow pouch.

Petersham Roller Rink in Real Living Magazine
Last year we entered and won a kitchen competition through Real Living Magazine. After a lot of time and hard work, our shiny new kitchen is featured in the September issue, currently out now.
My illustration 'Get Your Skates On' – Petersham Roller Skating Rink even makes an appearance in the magazine. Thanks Real Living!

What a card
Spring cleaning turns up all sorts of forgotten bits and pieces. It seems I have a bit of a card collection. The box above now lives with me, but, was once stuffed into the games cupboard at Mum and Dad's place. We have never been a card game playing family, or any kind of game playing family... and yet, I seem to accumulated a lot of cards.
What a joker that dancing Mexican is... the tiny little joker with a witchy face was not quite what I was expecting from a Christmas cracker.
These cards I found on a trip to Trieste, it was a traditional game that the family I was staying with loved to play. I gave the game a shot – loved the graphics, but have long forgotten the game.

Revolving Picture Books
In a recent trip to Mum and Dad's, Mum had put aside some of the old books I owned when I was about 3. I had forgotten all about some of them. In the pile of books I found 'Revolving Pictures' and 'Magic Window's' by Ernest Nister.
The pictures in these books were antique, and they had been set in a paper window with a pull/slide tab. If you pulled the tab, the image would slide away to reveal another picture. I do remember pulling these tabs with a little too much excitement when I was little. Several of the tabs had snapped. I still really like this paper mechanism.

The Sun Sets in the West Exhibition Opening
Here's just a few snaps from the exhibition opening on Saturday. A fun day was had, aside from the nerves and the last minute bits and bobs. Thanks to John D-C for his hard work and support, I don't think I would have reached my deadline without it.

Hello from a distance – new (ish) stationery
I launched this stationery range in October, but didn't get around to popping it onto the blog.
With email, the web and technology making it so easy to connect with loved ones from a distance, getting something delivered in the post seems to have become mostly about getting bills and catalogues. I wanted to created a set that would make people want to start writing to friends and family who live far away.
I've created tags, cards, letterheads and wrapping paper using the airmail motif. I collected and attached used stamps, of animals with wings including birds and butterflies to carry on the air theme.
It's all wrapped up in a lovely red box. Available at Sweets Workshop.
